“I blew it” to air on Mzansi Wethu DStv Channel 163 Saturdays at 7h30 PM premiering on 06 October.  SOMETIMES MONEY COSTS TOO MUCH! This October, Mzansi Magic takes a thought-provoking look into the lives of South Africans who received an unexpected windfall, and in an instant, blew it all. This sometimes-humorous, often tragic documentary, takes a deep look into the psyche of ordinary South Africans and how they’ve acted when presented wealth beyond their wildest dreams.  I Blew It  explores the heady intoxication of life with no monetary restrictions, and the sudden change in relationships and family dynamics. The show creates a dialogue about the psychology of money and the influence or wealth it comes with, through the stories of ordinary people. Each episode covers the story of a single participant, starting with their unexpected acquisition of wealth, followed by how the money was “blown”, ending with where the person is now – very often finding...

Image
Over 30 000 worshippers filled the Voortrekker Monument Amphitheatre at Dr Tumi’s Gathering of Worshippers 2018 (GOW18) Beauty for Ashes concert on Saturday night, 1 September 2018. With this feat, the gospel genius wrote his name in the history books as one of the first musicians to fill up the Amphitheatre, and also one of the first black musicians to stage a concert in a venue with a painful and divisive history and was known as a bastion of Afrikanerdom with no blacks allowed in.  Dr Tumi sees the Gathering of Worshippers as a reconciliatory move and it’s his humble effort in fostering national unity and social cohesion. With a high tech stage, impressive lighting and effects, Dr Tumi thrilled his audience with a selection of songs that were both comforting and rousing, but always powerful and moved many to tears. There have been many testimonies shared on social media by those who attended who spoke of how they got healed and others reached their ...
