Chubby Vogue Divas: A Critique of the Female Body A photographic body of work by Charmain Carrol. Chubby Vogue Divas exhibition is by a Market Photo Workshop graduate Charmain Carrol, (Photographer) which is a series of 21 photos of big black women who get to feel good about themselves in front of the camera. Chubby Vogue Divas were photographed from deferent parts of the South Africa, namely Alexandra,   Johannesburg, Secunda, Soweton Gauteng and Durban, Hermmersdale, Kwamashu, uMlazi, Port Shepstone, Eskhawini in KwaZulu-Natal. Part of the reason to launch Chubby Vogue Divas was due to Charmain Carrol’s experience growing up seeing only skinny women on television, magazines and billboards. A teenager stabbed at a Gay Pride march died of her injuries

Shira Banki, 16, was among six people stabbed at the Jerusalem march on Thursday by a suspect identified as an ultra-Orthodox Jew released from prison only weeks earlier for a similar attack. The five other victims suffered light injuries. Banki's family said Shira had been murdered because "she came to support the rights of her friends and any person to live as they wish". "For no reason and due to evil, stupidity and negligence, the life of our wonderful flower was cut off," they said in a statement. The suspect, Yishai Shlissel, had stabbed and wounded three people at the 2005 Gay Pride march in Jerusalem. He served 10 years in prison and was released just three weeks ago. Before the latest assault he posted a letter on the Internet speaking of the "abomination" of a Gay Pride parade being held in the Holy City and the need to stop it. OPULENCE!, DURBAN FASHION FAIR 2015 LINE-UP

It's that time of the year again, it's Durban Fashion Fair time!  Durban Fashion Fair is the biggest fashion event in Durban and it attracts a number of media, celebrities, fashion buyers and fashion forward individuals.  Designers like David Tlale, Davin Rajah, ZARTH, Massemo Crevelli have showcased at DFF.  Last year, in 2014 DFF hosted A-list celebrities such as Bonang Matheba, Minnie Dlamini, Lerato Kganyago, Soffie Ndaba, Somizi Mhlongo to name but a few.  This year the line-up is one to look forward to with shows like Thula Sindi's stand alone show, designers collaboration with Ukhozi FM personalities, closing show by House of Alfalfa.  This year Durban Fashion Fair for the very first time will also host Durban Fashion Fair Awards which will happen on the last day of the event.  DFF 2015 will take place at a new venue that is even more upmarket; SUNdeck in Suncoast, very posh! GAIL MABALANE X GENERATIONS: THE LEGACY

Gail Mabalane is back on television and she's on your screen as of tonight, and it happens she will be on the most watched soapie Generation: The Legacy  at 8pm.  This is after she took a break of two years since giving birth.   “I got a call about the opportunity and the timing was perfect. I read the script and found the character interesting. So I went in to audition, and the Generations team was very welcoming so to me it just felt right. It was also perfect for me because it wasn’t too demanding at first, with my daughter only 2 months old when I started shooting” explains Gail Mabalane.
