Cornetto launches second instalment of Cupidity; a set of seven beautiful short films all about love

(21 May 2014) For fans of a great love story the wait is over as Cornetto, the iconic ice cream brand synonymous with love and romance, today launches a hotly-anticipated new series of Cupidity; seven beautifully shot films all about the all-consuming ups and downs of teen love. Now in its second year, the Cupidity series has been a global triumph and this year welcomes global music superstar Lily Allen to the cast of one of the films,40-Love.

The Cupidity series was created as a continued way of bringing the brand’s Enjoy the Ride, Love the Ending tagline to life as each story follows the twists and turns of teen romance. This year’s anthology – Drawings & Dreams, The Oasis, Travellers, 40-Love, Love Ride, Shadow Dancer andTogether Apart – draws upon a wider variety of teen love stories than ever before and guest-stars A list talent including Allen, Empire of the Sun and Tatu.

The entire Cupidity series features a wide variety of characters, situations and love stories. 40-Love, part of the Cupidity series, is a short film which focuses on seeing the characters’ romance unfold in the face of shyness. Game, set and it’s a match made in heaven when a young girl finds herself as an accidental target for love. As her relationship with a tennis pro doesn’t start off well, Lilly Allen, who plays cupid in the short film steps in to assist. 40-Love is available to watch here.

Cornetto is all about enjoying the journey from the creamy crown of ice cream to the iconic chocolate tip. Cupidity brings this to life by exploring the journey that all teens go through; the journey of love.

Cornetto has once again worked with the world’s leading crowd-sourcing agency, MOFILM to create the films and called upon the film industry’s leading talent – including two Ridley Scott Associates (RSA) directors – to bring their vision to life. 

Available to watch on the Cornetto SA Youtube Channel from Wednesday 21 May, six of the short films – Travellers (Italy), Shadow Dancer (Israel), Drawings & Dreams (Turkey), Together Apart (Poland), The Oasis (USA) and 40-Love (USA) - have been beautifully created by MOFILM, while Love Ride was created by LOLA Madrid. The directors of the seven films have a wealth of creative talent and experience that help them make each film an original and compelling story, designed for teens to enjoy and interact with.

David Alberts, Chief Creative Officer of MOFILM and creator of Cupidity, says: “These are old fashioned love stories delivered in a new world way – for teens who are spending less of their time watching television and more of their time watching content online.

“We are sourcing the stories through the crowd, taking a global idea and executing it locally (seven films in seven countries), and then using celebrities and famous musicians both in the films and as a model of distribution. This year is all about sharing the love.”
