RISE NANDI by celebrity designers Quiteria &
George
To Honour The Queen Mother Of The Zulu
Nation Through Fashion
The brand is looking forward to hosting guests of media, celebrities and clients to this spectacular event.
RISE NANDI is open to the public
and limited ticket sales are available on www.webtickets.co.za or at Pick 'n Pay
supermarkets.
Nandi Ndlovukazi kaBhebe, of eLangeni, Queen
Mother of the Zulu Nation will be honored by South Africa’s couture fashion
brand, Quiteria & George on 10 October 2015 at the
exquisite Rand Club venue situated in the heart of Johannesburg.
Fashion designers, Quiteria Lebohang
Kekana and George Malelu were recently invited to showcase at the
renowned Kwa-Zulu Natal fashion show, Fashion by the Sea in
Durban. Quiteria & George always aim to tell a story though
their designs to inspire, create change and to support the current fashion
movements. In their creative stance, they have managed to design
couture garments of moving architectures, structured silhouette, graphic and
intricate handwork elements on each of their unique designs for respective
clients and A-List celebrities.
For this particular showcase, locality
became the core inspiration for the designers’ fashion show
concept. Kwa-Zulu Natal is a magnificent province that boasts
of rich culture, heritage and history. The music, dances and diverse
energies led Quiteria & George to the Kingdom days of KZN.
The days of King Shaka Zulu, an era
that presented a well-respected and legendary warrior of the Zulu
Nation. RISE NANDI was then conceptualised, to honour the
woman behind the legendary King and tell a story about the Queen Mother of the
Zulu Nation through fashion and art in the modern day era.
It was unfortunate that the event,
Fashion by the Sea 2015 got cancelled, leaving the designers with planned
preparations in hand. “Our Fashion by the Sea collection was
comprised with 46 pieces, which on the runway were planned to bring the story
of The Prowess of a woman who gave birth and brought up the most celebrated
Zulu King. With this amazing story to tell and the work that was
already put in place, we felt the need to find other means and ways to bring
life to The Rise Nandi Fashion Showcase by Quiteria & George,” says
co-founder Quiteria Kekana.
The collection promises to embrace the
elements of Nandi’s warrior nature, high esteem, royalty,
respect and elegance.
A-list Southern African celebrities and
some of Quiteria & George ambassadors like Dineo Moeketsi, Jessica Nkosi,
Jena Dover, Lizha James, Miss Kay, Thando Thabethe, Terry Pheto and Mampho
Brescia will walk this spectacular runway at the magnificent venue with a
dramatic history closely linked with development of the world’s greatest Gold
Field with the emergence of modern South Africa, The Rand Club.
“It is not going to be just another
fashion show, we are aiming to create an unforgettable ambiance and experience
more than anything,” explains George Malelu co-founder of Quiteria &
George.
