Visual artist Wonder Buhle Mbambo is heading to Switzerland for his solo show at PhilippZollinger Gallery, Zurich, Switzerland. This is Wonder's 2nd solo show amongst many other group shows he has had in his career. His first solo show Ukumisa Insika was at Durban Art Gallery which was a major success and had a wonderful reception.

Buhle Wonder Mbambo born 1989, Kwa-Ngcolosi in Durban which is one of the villages still ruled under a chief. Having started art as a hobby at the age of nine, Mbambo says that he was encouraged by his mother to further explore art as a career as he use to play a lot with charcoal from firewood making stick man drawings on the walls of the house as a kid and with this specific exhibition in Switzerland he feels that Africa is at the space where it is realizing itself, reflecting and embracing its cultural diversities while rewriting its stories through the lenses of young people who are curious himself.

This got him to look at his work as a "median" space between himself and his own personal dreams. As the society is structured in such a linear way of living and conformities, his work becomes that space where he talks to his inner soul beyond the naked eye, rendering different materials to communicate his views from where he is standing as a youth in the society and the world at large.

Talking more on the process of making the exhibition To find me he says: "My curiosity stems from finding and understanding my own potential powers to inspire change, I grew up in a rural space where not so much things were happening, without any knowledge that the world can offer so much, but every time I go out side at night I will see the stars and will always have a belief that, there is still so much to learn and appreciate beyond what is presented in our communities, I had to live my life outside of stereotypes to find me"
