Clicks Group CEO Responds On Racism Black-lash
“Over the past few days, I have reflected deeply on what it means to be a proudly South African corporate citizen and consulted widely with diverse stakeholders to assist me in developing a comprehensive response to make mends for our error”
- Clicks Group CEO Vikesh Ramsunder
Vikesh Ramsunder has responded to the black-lash the retailer has faced after posting images that are offensive and displaying racism on their website.
Clicks has been trending on social media and on the news over the weekend and EFF threatened Clicks not to open its doors and EFF supporters protested to all Clicks stores to force them to close from operating.
Former public protector Prof. Thuli Madonsela also shared her views on this matter on her social media and said; “Protest is the language of the unheard and violence, the language of the disempowered. Is our constitutional democracy working? Are our parliamentary representatives empowered to use democratic institutions to make a difference? That will be my next article? #Clicks #BlackHairMatter”
Here is a statement from the group CEO published today.
