Second group of home cooks show off their skills!
After Kelly and Claire’s shock elimination from the competition last week, this Sunday’s episode of My Kitchen Rules SA ushers in a brand new group of five pairs of home cook contestants, all vying to impress each other and celebrity judges David Higgs and J’Something in a bid to get to the top of the leader board and stay in the competition.
This eclectic bunch of contestants certainly don’t hold back when it comes to how they feel about each other’s cooking skills, but even though they clearly talk the talk, can they walk the walk? Get to know them here:
Charnell and Kerry: These BFFs from Weltevreden Park in Johannesburg are creative working moms. Kerry, who used to be an accounts manager, recently resigned from her job in order to pursue a career in food and photography. These feisty ladies mean business and have the ambition to try to make their Instant Restaurant experience count.
Jamandi and Machiel: This married couple from Bloemfontein brings a pinch of humour to the competition, as their flamboyance and honesty has no filters. Having been married for 10 years, Jamandi and Machiel entered MKRSA in order to challenge themselves and take their relationship to the next level.
Andrew and Brent: Andrew and Brent are an engaged couple from Dainfern in Johannesburg. Living as a self-confessed “modern family”, Andrew and Brent are a confident and vibrant duo who love entertaining and are most passionate about friends, family, food and drinks.
Nicole and Zamatonga: Foodie friends Nicole and Zamatonga are proudly representing Durban. These self-assured ladies like to immerse themselves in different culinary worlds, fusing traditional fare with exotic ingredients and creative experiments along the way.
OG and G: OG and G are soon to be brothers-in-law who hail from the Mother City. On the surface, these Capetonian cooking brothers are your typical “meat and two veg” guys, but those looks can be deceiving as beneath the surface lies some serious creativity and flair.
In this week’s episode (Sunday, 17 September), Charnell and Kerry have been given the daunting task of hosting the first Instant Restaurant of the group. Will their confident attitude see them through, or will the pressure that comes with trying to impress ten hungry guests get the better of them?
