The book won the  Kraszna-Krausz  best photography book award at an event held at the Royal Society of Arts in London last week.  After being announced the winner, Muholi said: “I’m reclaiming my blackness, which I feel is continuously performed by the privileged other. Prof. Sir Zanele Muholi Images - Lindeka Qampi Internationally recognised photographer and visual activist Prof. Sir Zanele Muholi opened Ikhono LaseNatali exhibition on a high note at KZNSA Gallery in Durban.  Ikhono LaseNatali curated by Dr. Bajabulile Dhlamini and Thobeka Bhengu featured artworks from 25 young visual artists from KwaZulu-Natal that Muholi commissioned to interpret Muholi's photographic series Somnyama Ngonyama. The series of photographs, Somnyama Ngonyama are self-portraits addressing race, gender, and identity.  The exhibition was packed to capacity, making it the first exhibition ever have such big attendance to take place at KZNSA Gallery. Art Bank of South Africa invites artists to submit artwork to be considered for acquisition

South African artists are invited to apply for their contemporary artwork to be considered for acquisition by the Art Bank of South Africa (artbankSA). The artbankSA annually considers acquiring special pieces of art for its own growing permanent collection. The artbankSA is tasked with purchasing artworks from South African artists, particularly that of emerging artists in order to lease and sell the artworks to South African government departments, private companies and private individuals. It is a national programme of the Department of Arts and Culture as part of the Mzansi Golden Economy (MGE) strategy implementation and is hosted by the National Museum Bloemfontein, an agency of the Department of Arts and Culture. The vision of the artbankSA is to promote, foster and stimulate a vibrant market for the collection of South African contemporary visual art. GLAMOURous Everything at the GLAMOUR Mother's Day High Tea at Mall Of Africa in partnership with BBC, Revlon SA.   GLAMOUR hosted a mothers day hight tea event at Mall Of Africa on Saturday the 11th in partnership with BBC, Revlon and Mall Of Africa.  The guests were treated to a wonderful luncheon of tasty menu paired with Bombay and Martini bubbles. The sold out event featured celebrity guest speakers with their moms such as Boity Thulo, Enhle Mbali Maphumulo, Linda Mtoba and Sophie Lichaba with her daughter.  Each guest left with a goodie bag containing products from GLAMOUR,  Mall of Africa, BBC and Revlon.  Here is a look below of what went dow.
