Prof. Sir Zanele Muholi Images - Lindeka Qampi Internationally recognised photographer and visual activist Prof. Sir Zanele Muholi opened Ikhono LaseNatali exhibition on a high note at KZNSA Gallery in Durban.  Ikhono LaseNatali curated by Dr. Bajabulile Dhlamini and Thobeka Bhengu featured artworks from 25 young visual artists from KwaZulu-Natal that Muholi commissioned to interpret Muholi's photographic series Somnyama Ngonyama. South African artists are invited to apply for their contemporary artwork to be considered for acquisition by the Art Bank of South Africa (artbankSA). The artbankSA annually considers acquiring special pieces of art for its own growing permanent collection. The artbankSA is tasked with purchasing artworks from South African artists, particularly that of emerging artists in order to lease and sell the artworks to South African government departments, private companies and private individuals.
