SAVE THE DATE: With over 11 000 people last year, Mzansi Pride
have become one of the biggest Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender & Intersex (LGBTI) events in Africa. Join us again
this year as we fight for equality, celebrating life and spreading
LOVE. #LoveIsBetterThanHate | 26 November 2016
Our
Vision:
To celebrate uniqueness, curb homophobia,
transphobia & xenophobia, elimination of class within the LGBTI communities
and educate communities about LGBTI individuals.
About
Mzansi Pride:
Mzansi Pride is a diverse group of LGBTI
conscious, people of different colour and from different backgrounds with the
aim to create a space for everyone to be free to exercise their rights at all
times.
Mzansi Pride recognizes the need for people of
all colour, sexes and ages to descend upon the city of Johannesburg to embrace
their inner pride and participate in a colourful political and commercial
celebration of a unique and diverse community of people that are pioneering in
every sphere of society and have gained in reshaping public perception.
Mzansi Pride continue recognizing the need to
champion the struggle for the rights of all Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender
& Intersex (LGBTI) communities living in Africa and stand in solidarity
within our brothers and sisters in the African countries where
homosexual is deemed illegal in the eyes of the man-made law.
Mzansi Pride strongly believe every family
should be part of this movement as each and every family member living in
Mzansi is affected by the challenges LGBTI people faces daily directly or
indirect.
Mzansi Pride is against any form of
discrimination and violence to anyone. Mzansi Pride does not associate itself
with anyone or group that is against any LGBTI events. We believe everyone
deserves the same opportunity to choose to be part of any movement that they
believe in as long it is not there to interfere with another.
Mzansi Pride demands the government to provide
justice for victims of LGBTI hate crimes, abuse at police stations,
discrimination at healthcare government services, discrimination at schools,
workplace, home affairs etc.
