Call For The SAFTA’s Skills Transfer Programme, Apply Today!
This programme will be conducted at
Mall of Africa on the 14 February 2020 and the Sandton Convention Centre
on the 23rd – 29th March 2020.
The National Film and Video Foundation (NFVF), an agency of the Department of Sports, Arts and Culture invites Gauteng Province based final year students, who are studying in the following fields; Film and television production, Public Relations and Events management, to apply for the SAFTAs Skills Transfer Programme. This programme will be conducted at Mall of Africa (14 February 2020) and the Sandton Convention Centre (23rd – 29th March 2020). The successful students will be working with professionals within those above-mentioned fields. The objective of the programme is to expose students to the filmmaking, PR and events industries and to offer the students an opportunity to gain on-the-job experience.
Background
The SAFTAs were created with the primary objective to honour, celebrate and promote the creativity, quality and excellence of the South African Film and Television industry, as well as to encourage entrepreneurship and the development of new talent within the industry
The selected students must be available on the following dates; 14th February 2020 and the whole week starting from the 23rd – 29th March 2020. All the supporting information regarding the specific venue and the transport will be shared with the selected students.
An applicant must be:
• South African citizen and be based in Gauteng Province;
• Be a final year student.
• Studying in one of the following fields; Film and television production, Public Relations and Events management course
• Be registered at an accredited tertiary institution.
The required documents:
• One-page letter of motivation
• Certified ID Copy (valid for 6 months)
• Proof of registration
• Certified copy of latest academic results
• Social media page handles
The NFVF will provide accommodation and daily allowance.

The National Film and Video Foundation (NFVF) is an agency of the Department of Arts and Culture that was created to ensure the equitable growth of South Africa's film and video industry. The NFVF does this by providing funding for the development, production, marketing and distribution of films and also the training and development of filmmakers. In addition, the NFVF commissions research and produces industry statistics that provide both the public and stakeholders with valuable insights into the South African film industry.
