MEDIA RELEASE | MINNIE DLAMINI-JONES AND G.H. MUMM UNVEIL GRAND CORDON STELLAR IN SOUTH AFRICA
Master
of Celebrations Minnie Dlamini-Jones and France’s number 1
champagne G.H. Mumm celebrated their next victory as
they revealed
the gravity-defying Champagne – Mumm Grand Cordon Stellar
for the very first time on African soil. A special media brunch was
held at Mesh Club on 24 October where media had the chance to
interact with bottle number 2 of 30 ever made.
As
the official Master of Celebrations, Minnie Dlamini-Jones has never
been one to miss a defying moment and is at the forefront of Mumm’s
pioneering feats. In September, Minnie had the chance to reunite with
Mumm’s Chief Entertainment Officer Usain Bolt as they both
on-boarded a zero-gravity flight to experience Mumm’s new champagne
and celebrate their next victories at Maison Mumm in Reims.
“To
have experienced a zero-gravity flight, all the while sipping on Mumm
alongside the fastest man in the world Usain Bolt, was nothing short
of exhilarating. It’s so great to reveal the Grand Cordon Stellar
to a South African audience and they have a chance to experience what
I did in France,” Minnie said.
Mumm
Grand Cordon Stellar’s revolutionary feat of technology allows
astronauts and other space travellers to enjoy champagne in the
challenging surroundings of zero gravity. The fruit of a three-year
partnership with Spade - a young agency specialized in space design -
Mumm Grand Cordon Stellar employs a revolutionary new bottle and
glass concept to transform life in space, making a high-tech
champagne ritual available to all in the very near future. Thanks to
Mumm Grand Cordon Stellar, Mumm's art of celebration – along with a
range of exciting new taste characteristics - will now accompany
daring achievers in the new era of space exploration.
Innovation
and daring have been integral to Maison Mumm since its foundation.
Exploring new territories like space was a big challenge but one that
the Maison took on with passion. "Maison Mumm likes to push the
boundaries and has been a leader in its field ever since its
foundation. As such, Maison Mumm is a natural supporter of both the
pioneers of yesterday and those of the future. In 1904, Maison Mumm
was present on board with Commander Jean-Baptiste Charcot to
celebrate the first successful French expedition to the Antarctic.
Tomorrow, Maison Mumm will accompany passengers to space on this
unique adventure, said Pierre Berard, Global Marketing Director.
With
all these initiatives, Mumm is putting the innovative spirit that has
always guided the Maison at centre stage. South Africans now have a
chance to dare, win, celebrate
by entering a competition to win a zero-gravity champagne experience
in France by purchasing Usain Bolt’s signature pack in stores and
toast to their own next victories.
