GAY BASHING MADE NORMAL IN DURBAN

A 23-year old gay man (Ibanathi Ngcobo) was beaten up in Durban outside Society club in Morningside and it is believed it was homophobic attack.

An article was published by Isolezwe last week with a very mocking style of reporting.

A newmerous articles have been published after this attack and shockingly, the club management is only worried about their image being tarnished on social media, which makes me wonder, does this mean one should not share their experiences on their own social media account?

Speaking to Mambaonline & Isolezwe Ibanathi mentioned that he opened a case of assault as he could identify the perpetrator, but no arrest has taken place.
According to Durban's police spoke person speaking to Isolezwe an investigation is still taking place hence no arrest has taken place. Question is, who is being investigated? Shouldn't the suspect be arrested and defend himself in court?

What saddens me is that we are experiencing such attacks few weeks before Durban Pride takes place and the City of Durban have not said a word about such and they will probably not in support of Durban Pride, this is a City that is supposed to be "The Warmest City To Be" Is it really warm?

Durban is no stranger to such controversy. Last year a gay man from Umlazi, Durban was stepped by his homophobic neighbor & after the victim had opened a case no arrest took place and the victim saw the perpetrator everyday who ended up walking free after the case was dropped.

Another gay man was murdered at Inanda and few months later his murderer was seen walking free in Durban West Street and to date no one knows what happened to the case.
