Miss South Africa Dr Adè van Heerden launches a book club

Miss South Africa Dr Adè van Heerden has launched her own book club in conjunction with Exclusive Books. She answers some questions about it.
How often will this book club run and where? Every last Wednesday of the month in Exclusive Books stores across the country. The first one took place yesterday (February 28) at Exclusive Books in Rosebank. We are scheduled to hold the next one on Wednesday, March 28, at Hyde Park; Wednesday, April 25 possibly at Cavendish in Cape Town and Wednesday, May 23 (not the last Wednesday in this instance), at Menlyn in Pretoria. The events start at 17h30. My book club is open to anyone who would like to attend. I would like to create an inclusive environment for any young woman who is looking to better herself and rise to the goals she has set out for herself.  Why have you started your own book club?  Books have played such an important role in my life and have helped shaped me into the woman I am t…

Are you wildly creative, got every stitch down, and dreaming of being South Africa's next hot fashion designer? Mzansi Magic and Ndalo Pictures in association with 4thSTREET Wines (The fastest growing wine brand in the world) are looking for fashion designers who are going to shine as they proudly present South Africa’s first ever version of Project Runway.

There will be drama, there will be challenges, and there will be bold pops of local flair. Make no mistake: the expectations are …

Dr Tumi to gather worshippers at Voortrekker Monument
In yet another historic gospel first, music genius Dr Tumi takes his highly successful Gathering of Worshippers (GOW18) to Voortrekker Monument in Pretoria for a Live DVD recording themed Beauty for Ashes on 1 September 2018.
Dr Tumi becomes the first solo black musician to stage a concert at the Monument, in what is a reconciliatory move and an effort to overcome South Africa’s painful past of prejudice and separation. The outdoor venue that accommodates about 30 000 will be a magical backdrop of worship under the stars as supporters of Dr Tumi from all over the country and the neighbouring states are expected to descend on it.  Last year Dr Tumi filled the Ticketpro Dome in Johannesburg at the inaugural instalment of GOW.
GOW18 happens on Spring Day, a poignant day of renewal and all things bright. This feeds directly to the theme of Colour, hence the title Beauty for Ashes Live DVD recording. There will be a kaleidoscopic explosion …
