Award winning DJ, radio personality
and businessman Junior De Rocka
recently invited fellow media personalities to take part on a #DeRockasSchoolDrive campaign where he donated computers, cleaning,
sanitary items, stationary and WiFi to two schools in KZN, Wiggins Secondary & Nkosibomvu
Secondary School.
It is no secret that a good
education has the power to change a life. What is new is the demand for that
change. That’s why Junior also invited Sabelo
Gumede, founder of Kaizen, a new
application platform to help students choose careers wisely and to make it
easier to apply at Tertiary Institutions.
“I believe everyone or most people
have the desire to help others but when we get the opportunity to help we fail
to prioritize and instead sort out our own things. I'm slowly and gradually
learning to teach myself to be disciplined when it comes to such things and not
only think about my own needs but others that I have promised to help. I have
to learn to start myself of a few pair of sneakers in other to go and put
internet at some school or donate a computer. It's not an easy thing because
you know when you get money all we remember are the nice things we wish for. So
for me this is a huge step towards being the man I want to be - which is a man
that helps the needy” – Junior De Rocka
