What To Watch On Special Assignment - Sunday 21 April 2019

Praxia and Stelios Nathanael

Burnt. Bust. Broken. Chesa Nyama On SABC 3's Special Assignment This Sunday!

South Africans enjoy their braais which is why so many franchisees invested in the popular Chesa Nyama franchise, under Gold Brands Investments Ltd. The first store opened in 2012 and by 2016, the brand had reached a major milestone with the opening of its 316th store in the country.

But distraught former franchisees allege this business opportunity only favoured the owners, Praxia and Stelio Nathanael, who have since sold it. These franchisees say the model within which Chesa Nyama conducted business meant they were doomed to fail. They claim they experienced major financial losses, had to voluntarily pull out of the franchise agreements, and were forced to move out of the premises they were renting. They are now picking up the pieces.

Praxia and Stelios Nathanael deny all allegations of unethical business practices made against them.

Burnt. Bust. Broken, is produced by Lindile Mpanza for Special Assignment.
