FEATHERS RUFFLED OVER THE WEAKEST LINK & STRONGEST LINK AT MISS & MR GAY DAVEYTON 2014
LATE POST: Miss & Mr. Gay Daveyton 2014
The 6th of October 2014 saw a number of hopefuls from Daveyton township in Benoni competing for the tittle of Miss & Mr. Gay Daveyton at Two Tone Lounge that is organized by Lesiba Mothibe every year.
Some of the contestants brought the house down while some were weakest links on the game.
The standard of the pageant was on another level, nothing like an expected township pageant. As much as there were few moments where we were like "Joh" but it was no big deal. Actually should the MC, Labelz DeGlamour stuck on doing her job no matter what the problem was, the pageant would have been flawless. Not that most contestants would claim "they woke up like that - flawless"
The judges table was filled with anger and laughter.
As usual, like in any other pageants, contestants just cannot answer the judges questions. It was a sad case. Not so surprising for the contestants not to be able to answer as one of the judges said "LGBTI" is a difficult word #Sigh, and the other one was literately corrected by the contestant during Q&As.
Just before the least favorite contestant was crowned Miss Gay Daveyton 2014, Ndumiso Nhlengethwa couldn't help himself but fulfill the desire of wanting to be on stage & take the MC's duty to announce the winners.
Gorgeous Cuteness, Cimora, Kgomotso Mashapa took the crown! (Forgive me I really did not know which one to use, she uses all of them too)
Only if she toned down on the make-up & tuck a lot of us would agree that she should have won, we love her, she is GORGEOUS but beet to relax and take it easy.
The forever graceful Somizy Sincwala took the 1st princess position. While the 2nd princess position & Miss Photogenic was snatched by Thabo Katlego who used to give all the girls run for their money but has lost the plot.
I would suggest that the next time there is a pageant that features butch lesbians, there are no questions because a lot happens. Ever heard of beauty gone to waste?
Shaz Sicka Mthunzi who's a traditional healer & forever supported by her mother took the Mr. Daveyton 2014 & best styled. So deserving!
Ever heard of HOTNESS? That was the gentlemen who took 1st Prince & Mr. Photogenic Sphiwe Mbatha. Loved the red suit!
It's no competition if the hotness that took 2nd Prince & Mr. Personality isn't there. The handsome & taller than average runway model Vuvu Motsweni also owned the evening.
Ellah Kooper performed a few songs which were received with mixed emotions by the crowd not responding positive. "Ellah must perform songs that everyone knows, especially that she is in the township, otherwise she will feel like she has no support from the audience, Daveyton is different from Club Simply Blue" - a comment from one of the photographers after Ellah's performance.
The forever kinky & seductive, Blue, apparently also "inviting" was also a regular on stage with the late Lebo Mathosa and other SA's biggest hits.
The night was filled with a lot of excitement, a pageant close to perfection! Now we wait for our first pageant of the year Miss Valentine 2015 also hosted by Lesiba Mothibe aka Lee Siba on the 13th of February 2015 at Two Tone Lounge, Daveyton.
