  Press Release:

In tonight’s spectacular live show of The Voice SA, #TeamBobby’s Caroline Brussow (32) from Bloemfontein and #TeamLira’s Luke Lovemore (23) from Cape Town were the last two singers to reach the Top 8 when they garnered the most votes in this week’s viewers’ vote. Now, the Top 8 talent have to perform for their lives each week going forward to convince the South African public to vote for them. Fans of the show are now also able to vote for any of their favourites, regardless of which coach’s team they’re in.

Unfortunately the voting results tonight meant that Marissa Petzer (22) from Stilfontein and Bubbles Mnomiya (23) from Durban had reached the end of their musical journey with Coach Lira, and Bobby van Jaarsveld had to say farewell to and Marco Basson (23) from Vanderbijlpark and the talented teenager from Carletonville, John James Janse van Rensburg (19).

The Voice SA Season 2 Top 8 are:

#TeamKahn:
Fatman (40) from Bela Bela (Coach’s Save)
Craig Lucas (23) from Cape Town (Viewers’ Vote)

#TeamKaren
Samantha Leonard (24) from Kimberly (Coach’s Save)
PJ Pretorius (26) from Secunda (Viewers’ Vote)

#TeamLira:
Tender Mavundla (35) from Port Shepstone (Coach’s Save)
Luke Lovemore (23) from Cape Town (Viewers’ Vote)

#TeamBobby:
Josh Ansley (31) from Johannesburg (Coach’s Save)
Caroline Brussow (32) from Bloemfontein (Viewers’ Vote)

From now on the fate of the Top 8 lies entirely in the hands of the voting fans – the Coaches have no more saves left! The third live show of the season tonight [Sunday, 4 June] featured some spectacular performances from all of the talent as they each sang to stay in the competition, kicking it off with #TeamKaren’s Samantha Leonard with an apt song choice, Sara Bareilles’s “Brave”.
Coach Bobby said that’s exactly what Samantha is: brave. “You look like Superwoman!” he praised her. Karen commented on how dedicated Sam has been all throughout the process – “You are the Queen of Diamonds!” she said.
Samantha’s voting number is 08.

PJ Pretorius represented #TeamKaren with the Temper Trap hit “Sweet Disposition” and had his Coach up on her feet and dancing.
“Tonight you graduated cum laude to rock star performer,” Kahn Morbee told him, and Bobby confessed that he was surprised by PJ’s stage confidence. “I think he’s proved himself – he can get a party going!” Coach Karen said proudly.
PJ’s voting number is 07.

Next up was #TeamLira and taking the stage first was Tender Mavundla performing the old Whitney Houston classic “I'm Every Woman”.
“You’re a born entertainer,” Karen complimented her. “I’m just so filled with pride,” said Lira. “I believe in you 100%”.
Tender’s voting number is 12.

#TeamLira’s Viewers’ Save Luke Lovemore performed American Idol winner Phillip Phillips’s ballad “Home”.
Bobby was happy that the audience got to see this performance – “my favourite performance of yours so far,” he said. “I love this guy’s voice, I’d buy his albums,” said Karen, and a proud Coach Lira predicted that Luke would just keep getting better and better every week.
Luke’s voting number is 10.

First up representing #TeamKahn was Craig Lucas, putting a classic swing spin on Panic! At the Disco’s “Death of a Bachelor”.
“That was phenomenal for me,” Lira praised. “You’re absolutely exciting to me.” Bobby noted that there was a reason the public voted to keep Craig on the show. “I’m proud of you, man,” he said. “You’ve got that something magic,” said proud Coach Kahn.
Craig’s voting number is 01.

And Coach Kahn’s Coach’s Save Fatman channeled his inner Meat Loaf with “I Would Do Anything For Love”.
“Fatman, you are a reminder that dreams come true!” Lira exclaimed. “You are one of the best entertainers I’ve ever seen in my life,” Karen raved, and Kahn said Fatman was like the superhero of the show, “Captain Fatman”, “because you tell everyone that you should never stop dreaming,” he said.
Fatman’s voting number is 02.

For #TeamBobby first performance tonight, Josh Ansley brought the house down with the Kings of Leon hit “Sex on Fire”.
“Your voice is on fire!” Lira shouted. She said if there was ever an international The Voice competition, Josh would be her choice to represent South Africa, and proud Coach Bobby said he would probably win. “You’re an expert in your field, you’re an expert vocalist performer,” said Kahn.
Josh’s voting number is 15.

And #TeamBobby’s glamorous lawyer Caroline Brussow closed the show with Katy Perry’s ““Unconditionally”.
“Yaaaaaaaaay!” Karen shouted happily. “You’ve gone from second-guessing yourself to Star Diva Deluxe,” she told Caroline. “You’re strong, you’re gorgeous, you’re actually gorgeous and talent,” said Lira.
Caroline’s voting number is 13.

Now it’s up to the fans to vote to keep their favourite singers on the show! Voting opened directly after the show tonight and will close on Tuesday, 6 June, at 22:00.
