‘BETWEEN 2 CACTI: A MUSICAL JOURNEY’ is a brand new concept series of events celebrating the lives and music of South African icons. Through intimate storyteller evenings, creators FRANSKAROOand KERRY-ANNE ALLERSTON will be paying tribute to the incredible artists and their phenomenal music who have inspired a nation over the last few decades.

With the aim to document their lives and celebrate their immense contribution to the South African music industry and beyond, these events will be happening once a month and will feature the very best of renowned South African artists.

“‘Between 2 Cacti’ is a homage to big spirits in the South African music industry in a warm, comfortable and cosy atmosphere. It's a rare opportunity to sit in the presence of greatness. To listen to the valleys and mountain tops that shaped some of our legends. It's more about the person and their story than it is just about their music. It's in-depth. It's unique. It's personal. Think of a fire place in a cabin by the lake while you're listening to one of your heroes sharing some of their highs and lows.” - FransKaroo. 

The first episode will feature the amazingly talented CINDY ALTER, who fronted the all-girl pop-rock group CLOUT in the late 1970s and early 1980s, selling over 13 million albums worldwide. Still rocking with her band as well as enjoying a successful solo singer-songwriter career 42 years later, CINDY will be sharing her extraordinary story on the night.

There is a set menu chosen by the artist for the night, and the evening will feature a two part interview and performances by the artist, with a strict no noise policy during the interview portions due to filming.

“Once the artists are no longer with us their stories will be available to fans, friends and family to appreciate and cherish for years to come and it is not lost with them.” says Kerry-Anne.

FransKaroo is a storyteller. By day he shoots, directs and/or edits videos. By night and after hours he is the frontman of psychedelic blues band, Gunshot Blue. FransKaroo is an explorer of the lesser known, the fringe, and the authentic.

Kerry-Anne Allerston has been in the music industry for 18 years. Currently she is a radio presenter on Mix 93.8 FM and TV presenter for Discovr TV, as well as a writer for People Magazine SA. A recognised resident Le Club DJ, she is also known for her role as DJ and MC for various events. She is a proud ambassador for Marshall Music SA  and Time Square Sun International.
