Catching Feelings on Netflix, A lead role on ABCs Quantico and Scorpion King: Book of Souls to being the only celebrity to ever grace the cover of Sawubona Magazine  after the late president Nelson Mandela.

We were introduced to Pearl Thusi as a model, who was also a beauty queen at a time having placed 2nd princess at Miss SA Teen, a pageant that was very popular back then. She went on to become a television presenter and actress.

Pearl became one of SA's number one media personalities when she appeared on shows like Live Amp and Real Goboza. Many South Africans did not know that Pearl was also an actress who had appeared on SABCs Zone 14, Soul City and Jacobs Cross amongs many others.

First forward to new age, now actress Pearl Thusi who's profile might take paragraphs to update, is on a global stage taking lead. After Pearl was announced as a lead actress on ABCs Quantico for the whole season, South Africa came to a stand still. She inspired so many, her biography will forever be in the history books that no matter where you come from, your dreams are valid, if you follow the. Today, she is amongs the list of global actors.

After she played lead on Caching Feelings, there was a lot of criticism from television commentators that the movie was not doing well at South African cinemas, few months down the line, the movie was announced that it will be the first South African movie to be available on Netflix. This meant, Pearl and her cos-stars will be watched by anyone, anytime around the world. After the movie was released on Netflix, Thusi received a lot of compliments from fans who remembered her from Quantico and from different walks of life. Pearl has now been introduced to a global audience on a lead role and she is indeed taking lead.

A very fascinating story surfaced when announced her South African Airways in-flight magazine, the magazine that is provided for free on all South African Airways local, international and regional flights. Miss Thusi shared the beautiful black and white cover of the October edition on Instagram, where Pearl looks so much of an actress, Pearl Thusi said: “At home in KZN, there should still be a copy of the very first SAWUBONA magazine I ever laid my eyes on. SAA was the first airline I ever flew with.

It was 2003, just turned 15 and I was a Miss SA Teen finalist. And I was going to be on a plane for the first time ever. I grabbed anything I could to remember the occasion. My dad drove me, were HOURS early 😂😂😂 . How things change, now they all wave at me as I sprint to the gates. Today I am a platinum member of South African Airways and on the cover of SAWUBONA @sawubonasaa (sic).”

Pearl went on to say: “We should always take stock of our achievements. 15 years later. Now I fly all over the world and I grace the cover of the same magazine that accompanied me on that unforgettable journey to make my dreams come true.”

We are inspired! One thing Pearl Thusi has done to any black family that do not believe you can make success out of being an actress or television presenter is that YES YOU CAN!
