He grew up in a Christian household, her mother was very close to God and made sure everyone in the household prays everyday. That was his strong sustenance to making every decision for his goals in the future.

His surroundings were filled with what he was familiar with and what he needed to hear. He never thought of doing anything else besides fuel his passion that he learnt from home. When he was young, he used to visit the neighborhood banana tree and listen to a group called Reformation that use to sing in the Church within the vicinity at Mthwalume know Turnton / Enkambeni in KwaZulu-Natalwhere he grew up.

In the year 1990 when he was 15 years old that he realised forming a gospel group was what he needed to feed his hungry soul. This was just a meeting of brothers and sisters who also loved music. H was young and in love with everything that was to do with gospel music. They called themselves the All Rounders.

"I don’t know why but it sounded like an easy enough name to remember. Our main aim was to touch people’s lives through our songs and we succeeded.” says Sinothi Cele.

A few years later, the group dispersed and led different lives. Later on he joined a group called Spirit Of God where he had to travel a long distance to attend rehearsals.
He stayed with the group about one year, later he moved over to Esihlonyaneniwhere he joined Southern Singers the name later was changed to Redemption whilst they were on a music tour in Portshepstone KwaZulu-Natal. H met a guy by the name of Bongani Dlongolo who invited him to one of the projects he was recording with African Christian Band group from Gamalakhe Township; where he was a lead Singer for the group for the project that was recorded in 1996 Ngingenwe Project.

Not long after that, he had to relocate to Durban where he sang with Tehilla Prays Family, they recorded our first Album called Africa Shayingoma live at Durban Playhouse in year 2000 because of the reality of trying to make means for living, there was no income in music. So that’s how he studied to become a paramedic.

He now had to balance his work and music by saving lives physically, mentally, emotionally and most importantly spiritually. He gets his inspiration to write his songs on the trips he takes to many countries he visits.

Sinothi Cele's first single album he recorded in 2013; Kuyenzeka.
“I grew up in a Christian household.
My mother was my inspiration because of the way she used to pray.
I can say my influence came through my years
of growing up in a Christian home.”
